What made you become the photographer you are today?

I started my photography journey in 2012. Prior to that, I was using a point and shoot camera and I didn't know much about the craft. Then I met a friend who introduced me to the wonderful world of photography, showing me amazing images on photo communities, and taught me the basics of post processing. From that point on, I was hooked and have been shooting every weekend since. I started out trying every photographic genre, and after 3 years of lots of shooting and experimenting with post processing, I found my own style and creative vision. My background in architecture also influences how I interpret buildings through photography.

What does the X System camera do for your photography?

The X System has definitely changed my approach in my photography. The fine details, colour rendering and most of all, the sensor's wide dynamic range have allowed me to enhance my creative vision. I have more freedom in post processing on single exposure images without having to compromise on the details. The results of the images are just stunning – colours are so rich and the image quality is amazing.  

Tell us the story behind how you created your image.

This image was taken during my recent visit to the newly opened Salesforce Park, a 5.4 acre rooftop park over the Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco. It was shot during late afternoon when the light was perfect for photographing architecture. The image is a combination of two office buildings located just across the street from each other. I tend to see buildings as parts and not as a whole in order to create an abstract image. What caught my attention were the lines of the blue curtain glass wall and the high contrast of the blue glass versus the white granite curtain wall of the lower building. The layers of the two plains show different light and textures while proportion between the two buildings and overall framing are just as important in order to create balance in the image.
