What made you become the photographer you are today?

I grew up in a small town in Peru where old ladies wore colorful traditional clothes. My mom used to work at a travel & tourism agency and often traveled for work. I got to explore different towns in Peru throughout my childhood with her. I remember being fascinated by artisans and the way they created textiles, embroidery and pottery. I also developed a tremendous respect for strong females. Seeing what my single mom was able to accomplish in a male dominated society affected me in ways that I didn’t even fully realize until much later. All of this is reflected in my work. Also, living in such a diverse city like Miami continues to shape my artistic style, rendering my work evocative and colorful.

What does the X System camera do for your photography?

It takes my photos to another level. The quality is so impressive! I love how much I can play with the colors and vibrancy. I cannot wait to see one of these images printed really big. I know they won't lose their magic!

Tell us the story behind how you created your image.

I was inspired by being in love. I wanted to portray a girl that was daydreaming about her crush but I still wanted to show her strong.
