Lucky PhotoKina Visitor Wins Hasselblad Camera Kit
17/12/2008 One of the highpoints of the Hasselblad Booth at this year’s Photokina was the H3DII Experience, which gave visitors the opportunity to test-drive a Hasselblad H3DII-31, shooting live models in a unique shooting environment. As an added bonus, all registered visitors to the booth were entered into a drawing to win their own Hasselblad H3DII-31 camera kit. Christoph Weiss, of Germany, has now been announced as the lucky winner of this drawing.

Twenty year old Weiss stumbled into photography back in 2005 via his girlfriend, who was working as a model. Only a year later, Weiss had his first exhibition, “The world in pictures” (“Die Welt in Bildern”). In September 2007, he was named as a Sony & FotoHEFT “Young Photographer” and in 2008 Weiss began his photographic internship at Otto-Foto Studios in Hamburg. Weiss concentrates on fashion and product photography, but also shoots nature, architecture, and sports photos as well.
“We are very happy that such a motivated, up-and-coming photographer won this drawing and this valuable prize,” says Philip Boissevain, Corporate Marketing Manager for Hasselblad. “The H3DII-31 provides an economically feasible entry into the Hasselblad system, and a high-end alternative to 35mm solutions. Having a Hasselblad system dramatically changes the types of images a photographer can produce and can make a world of difference to a young photographer’s career. We’re pleased to be able to put this fine gear into the hands of this promising young photographer and look forward to seeing what he does with it.”
