Analog photography, at least in the fields of authenticy and arts, still harbours the level of authority, which earlier was hosted by the printed or spoken word.
The analog captured image indeed represents the track of something, which appeared in front of the lens by producing a materialized hard copy.
These days, our imaginative faculty seems to be buried alive by flooding our minds with poor quality digital media content.
As photography means to reproduce by exclusion exactly what happened in front of the lens, the results simultaneously can be objective reproduction and personal statement, precise copy or faithful transcription of reality or interpretation of reality.
This is why I am still happy using the Hasselblad XPan System, despite the fact it has, with exception of minor changes to the body, for whatever reason, not been developed any further after its introduction during the late 1990s and finaly discontinued some time ago.
Its combination of image authenticy, portability, versatility, unobstrusivenes, 35mm dual format capability and medium format lens range are unique.
