Artist’s resume of Ans Jacobs
Ans Jacobs, Dutch photographer, has spent most of her adult life photographing. She started with a 35 mm camera, but since the early 1980’s she changed to Hasselblad. Its square 2 1/4 inch format works very well for her, resulting in strong and characteristic compositions.
To take her photograhic career a step further, she attended and in 1993 finished the “Fotovakschool” in The Netherlands as a fine art photographer.
Since, she did several commissions for portraits and company presentations.
Ans is strongly committed to black and white photography and to build on her talents she attended in 1995 a workshop [The Expressive Black and White Print), given by photographer John Sexton in Carmel Valley, U.S.A.
One of her main interests is travel photography. During her recent trips, amongst others to China, Australia, Africa and Europe, her attention was focussed on capturing the spirit of a country and its people as can also be seen on her own webpage at www.2ans.nl
